Introduction
We have published this online Directory to give you a comprehensive guide to the services provided by List G. It states concisely what you need to know about almost every barrister on the List. Details of members include employment history, current areas of practice, contact numbers and experience. There is a wealth of additional information concerning members of the List which, for practical reasons, cannot be included in this directory, but which can readily be obtained from the Clerks. Staff We are proud of the professional service provided by our staff who include : Nadia Gatto, previously employed in a managerial position with the Commonwealth Bank, is responsible for the management of our accounts section. Her experience in banking over 17 years - 8 of which were spent in the branch at Owen Dixon Chambers, has prepared her well for her current position. Melinda Addison has extensive experience as an executive assistant both here and overseas, and brings those skills to her duties as our receptionist. Clerking Functions The primary function of a Barristers' Clerk is that of a service provider. These services include :
- assisting with the selection of Counsel; The importance of briefing the most appropriate counsel for any matter, cannot be under-estimated. Given all the relevant information, the Clerks are able to assist the solicitor in this sometimes difficult process. Access to an electronic diary system, both during and after office hours, ensures that availability can be assessed quickly and efficiently. Fee Schedules Schedule A Up to $1650 Per Day $165 per hour Schedule B $1700 to $3000 Per Day $170 to $300 per hour Schedule C $3100 to $4000 Per Day $310 to $400 per hour Senior Counsel By negotiation All fees are inclusive of GST Please note that fees vary according to factors including: complexity of the brief, preparation time involved, seniority and experience of the practitioner It is not possible to cover every contingency in this publication, however Counsel is always prepared to discuss matters relating to fees. |
